Exotic Hardwood Floors - Woods From Central And South America
Exotic hardwood floors made from woods that come from Central and South America are extremely durable. Exotic hardwood floors are much harder than hardwood flooring that is made from wood such as oak, maple or birch. Exotic hardwood, such as bamboo, is very resistant to scratches and dents, making it very attractive to use for residential and commercial flooring. With exotic hardwood floors, you can choose from four different grades of wood, which determines the quality of the flooring. Exotic hardwood flooring is magnificent flooring. As with oak or maple hardwood flooring, bamboo hardwood flooring comes in grades such as clear, select, No. 1 common and No. 2 common. The clear grade of exotic hardwood floors is the top quality grade and of course, it is the most expensive wood for exotic hardwood floors. This grade of hardwood has a uniform grain pattern and very little variation in color throughout the floor. Select is the second best in all wood floors, even bamboo wood flooring and does show some variation in grain and color. The No. 1 and No. 2 common grades are third and fourth and do have from medium to high variations in the wood. Even with exotic wood, these grades are the cheapest. Exotic hardwood floors are like everything, you pay for quality. Installing exotic hardwood flooring - nails or glue. When you install exotic hardwood floors, you can either nail or glue the strips of wood to the subfloor. Most of the maple and bamboo wood flooring is ¾ inch thick and is nailed down. If you order the packages of bamboo hardwood flooring in two-foot lengths, then you won't have any difficulty gluing the strips of exotic wood in place. It may take a little longer but the result is certainly worth the extra time. Whether you have prefinished or unfinished oak maple or exotic hardwood floors you must equalize it properly before you install it. This means that you have to open the packages and allow the wood to become acclimatized to the surroundings and the humidity. There are several different finishes that you can choose from for exotic hardwood floors. A high abrasion finish for bamboo wood flooring consists of giving the wood seven coats of polyurethane containing aluminum oxide for the best protection. This finish is applied to both exotic and maple hardwood flooring in a factory setting. You might also like the industrial oil-based finish, which is really good if you have bamboo hardwood flooring in a commercial setting where there is a lot of traffic. However, you can also have unfinished hardwood flooring, which just uses a surface finish with a water based urethane. The type of maintenance for exotic hardwood floors really depends on the finish that you choose. If the bamboo wood flooring only has a surface finish, you will have to vacuum and sweep on a daily basis to make sure it is free of any dust and dirt. You should wash it with a water based hardwood floor cleaner. You should never wax it, even if you have a prefinished bamboo wood floor. Regular buffing will help to bring out the shine of your exotic hardwood floors. Buying wood flooring onlineOnline wouldn't be the first place most people would go to look for wood flooring, but now it's essential to look online. Why? Simply because online prices are so competitive. Think about it. An online store doesn't need to position itself where it attracts local traffic, so it can house itself and store it's products in low cost locations, thereby keeping costs down. That's why online stores are so competitive. But make sure you look for a large reputable store.
